We love the mountains any time of year, but driving through them in the fall is special. The fall foliage in North Carolina’s mountains in an amazing sight, drawing in visitors from around the entire world.
The highest elevations are showing the most color starting in early October, and foliage color increases in lower elevations starting in mid October. The best resource for this we have seen online for this is from the “Fall Leaf Color Forecast” here.
