The angle of a roof on a house is referred to as the roof pitch. It’s usually expressed as a number that looks like a fraction, such as 1/12 for a very shallow roof, or 18/12 for one that’s very steep. The numbers indicate the rise of the roof over it’s run. For a 1/12 roof, for every 1 foot it rises vertically, it runs 12 feet horizontally.

An 18/12 roof, which is incredibly steep, would rise 18 feet for every 12 feet of horizontal coverage. A roof like that wouldn’t slow water down very much as it drained, and quick moving water can flow right over the top of some gutters.

A roof that steep would need two different solutions in order to work properly. The first is a gutter wide enough that it can catch the fast moving water is it flows down and over the edge. By sticking out further from the edge of the house, the gutter can do a better job of collecting all of the rain, and not letting any drip down around the sides of the house.

But wide gutters don’t just catch more water, they also catch more debris, which brings us to the second solution. Gutterglove gutter protection systems can stop debris from entering any gutter, no matter how wide it is, or how steep of a roof it’s connected to.

By using a stainless steel micromesh filter that never rusts, and stops everything except rain water from entering your gutters, Gutterglove makes sure that clogs and blockages can’t form, ensuring your home is protected from rain and water damage.
