Despite its formal founding in 1887, with a population of 200, Holly Springs was barely a dot on a map for more than 110 years. It wasn’t until the surrounding areas exploded, Cary and Apex specifically, that Holly Springs began to boom. In fact, in the year 1990 there were less than 1000 residents calling the town their home. That quickly changed, with a 910% population increase over the next decade, and another 170% increase from 2000 to 2010.

That growth didn’t go unnoticed. The pharmaceutical giant Novartis opened a manufacturing facility to produce flu vaccines, and provides 350 well paying jobs. In 2007, CNNMoney.com listed Holly Springs as the 22nd best small town in which to live in the US. With it’s beautiful scenery at bass lake park and surrounding greenways, more people are drawn to the area every year. Today, more than 25 thousand people reside in Holly Springs, and many new homes and business were built to accommodate them all.

That much growth means a lot of new construction, and to keep new homes and business looking new, they need to be properly protected from the elements. Rain and wind can cover roofs with leaves, pine needles, and other forms of natural detritus. These eventually wash down into your gutters and form a clog. Standing water is a haven for bugs, specifically mosquitoes. And when the water over flow, its going to go all the places you don’t want it to go, and none of the places you do.

Most gutter protection products rely on water surface tension to redirect water around the front edge of a curved cover, and back into the gutter system. These only work well under ideal circumstances, and contrary to the manufacturers claims, pass leaves and debris into your gutters, forming clogs. If the water flow is light, the rain gently clings to the surface of the guard, similar to how water stick to the side of a glass as you just begin to pour. However, heavy rains will rush down your roof and fly past the guards. At that’s point it’s as if you don’t have gutters at all.

Gutter glove is different. Because it uses a filtration process, rather than surface tension, the water is free to flow directly into your gutters, but anything larger than dust or pollen is caught, preventing a clog from ever forming. The water will drain away as intended, your home or business will remain protected, and bugs will have no where to live and breed.
