Sometimes people want more than just a gutter guard. They want all new gutters as well! While gutter installation is not our main niche, if people are getting Gutterglove we’re happy to properly install a brand new gutter system onto their home. This is a most commonly asked for when people are getting a new roof.

Which gutters do I need?

Let’s start with the cheapest and work out way up.

Vinyl gutters are made of PVC plastic. They are lightweight. They do not corrode or rust. They are cheap. Not all vinyl gutters are created equally however; thin vinyl gutters can sag. They may grow brittle as they get older. If you end up getting vinyl/plastic gutters make sure they have some thickness to them as they will last longer. Some of these gutter systems snap together and are easy to install but also fail easily.

Aluminum gutters are the most popular gutters in the Carolinas. In Raleigh, NC and beyond we have seen an awful lot of aluminum. Aluminum gutters are fairly cheap, do not rust, and come in a variety of colors.

Steel gutters are very popular but not in central North Carolina. They cost quite a bite more. While aluminum gutters are fairly durable, steel gutters are much more durable and can withstand the weather more. They do eventually rust, but they also last quite some time.

Copper is the most expensive type of gutter that we run across. Of course, it starts off shiny and within a month it looks quite different. Eventually it will turn a dark green color. They are extremely durable and mostly found at the coast in places such as Surf City.
