Collecting or harvesting rainwater is coming back into style and is a popular way to improve the environment. We’ve brainstormed and listed to customer feedback and come up with a quick list of uses for harvested rainwater. Rainwater harvesting systems are popular with our Gutterglove gutter guard customers, as the amount of debris in their rainwater is drastically reduced. Rainwater harvested from a roof and gutter using Gutterglove products is actually a good quality of water. It is not suitable for drinking or personal needs, however rainwater can be used in many different applications.
Uses for harvested rainwater:
- Watering gardens. North Carolina summers can have weeks with no rain. A barrel full of collected rain water can help feed your lawn and plants. Some people even prefer rainwater over tap water for gardening because the water has no added softeners, like sodium, fluoride, or chlorine.
- Saving money. Harvesting rainwater is also a good way for homeowners to save a little money on water bills.
- Washing cars. Harvested rainwater is great for washing your car!
- Sustainability. Water is a precious resource. Using it sparingly makes a difference to our environment.
